The Academic Unit of Radiology in the University of ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ's Department of lnfection, Immunity & Cardiovascular Disease is one of the key research groups contributing to lnsigneo. Using state-of-the-art techniques developed in ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ by the POLARIS project, which is led by Professor Jim Wild, the team creates functional images of the lungs in patients affected by conditions such as cystic fibrosis, emphysema, pulmonary hypertension asthma and complications from smoking. Collaborating with clinicians in ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ and across the UK, they have led the way in translating these techniques into the clinic.
